I think it tunneled. Buffet...I don't think it swam. I think it tunneled. Buffeted by cold Atlantic winds, it stretched its stony toes far and wide, seeking a more favorable home. First it found the Gulf ... the warm waters called, and one night PWOP! -- the little lighthouse slipped underground, following its foundations south. What an adventure, popping up to see the country in the mid-Atlantic states, the river, the bayou. But when it reached the gulf, it weathered a frightful hurricanes, and again stretched its toes, seeking, seeking ... the waters of the Pacific. PWOP! Rumbling like a giant drill beneath the Plains, popping up unexpectedly in the desert, where a lone rancher thought he dreamt a stone rocketship, until at last he reached California, PWOP! and the warms waters, sunshine, a sea lions.
