I be kreativ

In which I post blurry pictures of things that make me smile.

Brenda has passed me an award for being so creative. This is especially nice to get because it has been suggested to me by the real life peanut gallery that I have been, um, a bit, perhaps, CRANKY lately. So today I will spread sunshine all over and share with you (as the award dictates) seven things I love.

Seven Materialistic Things Jacqui Loves
A Poorly Photographed Photo Essay
(including one somewhat gross half-eaten lunch photo)

1. the buns-warmer in Thor's car

2. My witch boots, for which Thor wrote me a prescription once when I was depressed, AND

3. My woolly clogs, which I wear every day when the snow's not too deep.

4. The roasted vegetable salad with no eggplant and a side scoop of tuna from Cafe Zola here in Ann Arbor, where they once also posted an enormous photograph of me tickling Captain Destructo as part of an art exhibit.

5. Tantré Farm, the local organic community farm we joined last summer. I dream all winter of their vegetables and Destructo asks weekly, "We go market market?" which means farmer's market to him.

6. Face moisturizer. Right now, I'm using the Ultra Facial Moisturizer from Kiehl's, which can be yours for the low price of one million dollars per ounce, but any thick yummy cream will do. I love washing my face and waiting a while and then slathering it on.

7. My new gray woolly fingers-optional gloves. They are fuzzy and warm and I can type in them.

I tag, um, everyone. Post me a picture of something materialistic that you love and report back.

Did I say cranky? I meant - contemplative.

I also loved the bun-wamer on hubby's car until he traded it in for a farm truck which has absolutely no bun-warming capabilities, and sadly, quite the opposite effect!

Jacqui, did you know that there is such a thing as a honest-to-God bun-warming heated toilet seat? You can find these all over Japan, and while some people may snort, believe me, once you've used one, you never want to go back to a cold seat. Just looking at your car seat warmer made me remember. It also helps that it's freezing here right now and we have no hot water, and I've been drinking tea and coffee non-stop to help get warm... Don't think I could bring myself to photograph one though, even if I could figure out the technology.

I love those witch boots. I wish I had some just like them -- they'd be fun to teach in!

I respect the effort you put into this. To actually go around your house and photograph things for your Kreativ Award shows a dedication unmatched by other bloggers. Well done, you.

(Unless of course, you already had the pictures. Then it's still a good idea, but not quite as impressive.)

Elise, sadly, you were not the only one...

Mary, I have actually seen those in Japan. Crazy. What I do miss is the radiant bathroom floor heating we had in our old house in Philly.

Paul, I did take all those pictures today, via camera phone, AND email them to myself for uploading, which did require typing my email address into my phone keypad five times. It is this kind of massive dedication to my readers that distinguishes Jacqui's Room from the masses...

The seat warmers are a must in the Midwest. Ahhhhh.
Great pics! Also, the organic garden is impressive.

My car doesn't have a seat warmer, but I do have an electric blanket that plugs into the outlet. It's a wonderful thing to have, until your child plugs it in without telling you and then doesn't unplug it and then when you go to start the car the next morning it doesn't start, and you go out and buy jumper cables, and it doesn't even start then, so you have to go out and buy a battery recharger, and thank god that works, because who wants to try to get someone to come fix your car when it's 10 degrees out?

ps. I don't even want to speculate what my word verification means: "feceste."

Kely, it would be more impressive, I think, if I helped grow it instead of just eating my way through it!

Thanks, Christy. Even though they are terrible cell phone shots! Between you and Paul, maybe I should use bad pix with every post. :)

Diane, hypothetically speaking, of course, yes?
