The Sensational Weirdo

In which I explain why some of you saw my superhero name briefly this weekend.

It was bad enough when The Mighty Thor and I sat down at the Golden Compass website to discover our daemons. Thor got a snow leopard. Sweet, eh? Yeah, mine was a raccoon. Dissatisfied, I took the whole thing over. Raccoon again. So my daemon, my alter-ego, the reflection of the inner Me, is a rat in a mask.

Sunday, I was revising avoiding dishes screwing around on the internet and came across the Superhero Name Generator.* And got this:

Your superhero name is...
The Sensational Weirdo

Sigh. The Sensational Weirdo. It's so true, I fear. And I was laughing so hard I hit "publish" which makes me both weird and technically unqualified to blog. Double sigh. At least there is chocolate. Oh, wait. I ate it all.

*Someone linked me there. I can't remember who. If it was you, I'm sorry not to give you credit.

Funny! Mine was the Extraordinary Surfer! (I guess I do surf the web a lot!)

Yours truly,

It gave me The Incredible Inferno. I probably wouldn't have minded if I hadn't recently read (and disliked) Enna Burning.

The Acrobatic Weirdo. I guess mom and dad we're right: I am the athletic one.

Superhero, schmuperhero. How did I not find the daemon generator before? First try, I had a fox named Gabriel. Not bad, but I tried again with some stronger responses and I ended up with a TIGER named Alchaeon. Awesome!

Oh, btw, my superhero name is totally appropriate: The Extraordinary Weirdo!

I am the Tone Deaf Phantom... Hmmm.

I may be Tone Deaf, but there's nothing Phantom-ee or mysterious about it.

I'm The Charismatic Weirdo!

Hmm, they seem to be heavy on the weirdos...or we are. I think Kelly's and Ann's are the coolest, though The Tone-Deaf Phantom is TOTALLY the name of my Scooby-Doo rip-off adventure book.

Diane, you're a tiger?! This stinks.

Yours,
The Raccoon

Mine was the Fearless Tornado. Hmm. I do live in the famous "Tornado Alley." And we did just spend all afternoon in the school hallway yesterday while one passed just to the west of us.

If any of you ever have trouble on the high seas, feel free to contact yours truly, The Fearless Mariner (It's probably no biggie that I don't know how to sail and am prone to seasickness. I am a superhero, after all).

My daemon is Aradion, a cool cat that is an ocelot. The Superhero name Sensational Platypus.
I'm doing anything I can to avoid NaNoWriMo. But I'm out of digressions.
Can't you add some more serendipitous links? I'm out of original digressions?

Ha! Ha! Ha! I love your superhero name!

Ok, so I really should be working, but I am going to go check who I am while I'm responding, so that you know too ...

... I'm back!

My daemon is a lion, one of almost 90,000 lion daemons on the site. Makes me feel unique, not.

My superhero name is The Radioactive Tornado, but actually, that's my husband, so I took it again, and now I'm the same thing. Grrr. Put in DH's name and he was The Illustrious Liberator.

I decided to try it with my first and middle names instead, and now I'm The Radioactive Surfer. I guess I can live with that or the tornado one if I have to, but I like yours better!

Ooh, the Fearless Tornado might be my new favorite; wonder what happens when she meets the Fearless Mariner?

Sharon, I'm working on it (or NOT working on it).

sruble, better a lion that a raccoon.

LOL! That's perfect! In a good way. I am one who values weirdness and think "weird" people make the world a better place. Take for example a friend of mine. He makes art (including 6 foot monsters) and randomly places them in public. Just to make people smile. See. Good weird. :0) That's the kind you are (probably minus the monsters though.)

I am the Amazing Tornado. I'd much rather be a weirdo.

Jacqui said...

Christy, does it count that I made two little, quite destructive monsters?

Liza, I feel like I should say, "Don't worry, Liza; I think you're weird." :)

Anyone else think the superhero name generator is operating with a limited noun selection?

haha! you're just doing the daemon thing now? i love the sensational weirdo.

So I typed in my married name and I got the Invincible Albino. Boo. I don't like. So I typed in my maiden name and I got the Invincible Liberator. Much better!

I love that crossing out thing and you use it so cleverly.

Sadly, my husband has cottoned on to the writing=avoiding dishes strategy, but it was good while it lasted.

And I'd go for raccoons over snow leopards any day.

Jacqui said...

Thanks, Mary, but I just can't get excited about the raccoon thing. I just keep picturing myself eating trash while Thor stalks things.
