5,000 words to go on my novel for National Novel Writing Month.
So few, and yet SO MANY.
I was reflecting on my novel-finishing strategies, which consist of:
useless wordiness,
irrelevant sidenotes,
procrastination,
and repeated word counting,
and I couldn't help thinking, "I've seen this before. This is IN something."
It took me a long time, but I found it. I am mostly Lucy (especially at the very very very end), but there's decidedly a bit of all of them in me. And we can always use a little Charles Schultz, I think.
Enjoy.

Oh Jacqui -- I loved watching that. Thanks for putting it up. I'm a cross between them all, I think. I loved how Schroder goes off on a sidetrack. That is so me! LOL!
Thanks for the peanut gang this morning....love them.
Wow! You had me at Schulz.
Oh wow, Jacqui! That's brilliant! I am totally Lucy all the way. Well, and a little bit Charlie Brown. And a little bit Schroder. Okay, I'm all of them.
Good luck finishing!
LOL! That's hysterical! I can totally relate to all of them.
When Lucy first started her report, it kind of reminded me of your review of Moby Dick. ;0)
That's perfect!
congrats on finishing, jacqui! that's pretty darned amazing!!! WOW!!!
This is just what I needed right after finishing NaNo...thank you! LOL
Only during NaNo am I like Lucy...I don't usually worry about my word count until I'm done and then I see what is needed...
But I am just like the other 3...more like Charlie Brown and Schroder...with a touch of Linus...
I have a book called "Snoopy's Guide to the Writing Life"...it was a gift from Hubs...It is all about Snoopy trying to get published...It has some wonderful insight and advice from many, many authors mixed in...when I get a rejection I get the book out and it makes me feel much better...grin..
Rena, Jill, and Candace, glad it made you smile. I was giggling so hard Thor kept saying, "What?!"
Linda D, welcome! I am all of them too, really.
Christy, I am flattered to be compared to Lucy! But she did not have cool phone video footage with actual fish, of course :)
Thanks, Cindy. I know you have been working hard too.
Brenda, me too, but during NaNo, I count ALL the time. I will have to check out Snoopy's writing advice.
I forgot about that. Thanks for sharing! I'm a little bit Lucy and a little bit Charlie Brown. :)
sruble, for some reason, your comment got me singing "I'm a little bit country, I'm a little bit rock and roll."
