My Boyfriend, My Novel

As you know, these days, I am playing a lot of Text Twist and messing around on GoodReads revising my novel. I wrote and wrote and wrote yesterday and last night and today, and as a result, I have nothing new for you here in Jacqui's Room.

BUT, if you have ever tried to write a novel, or anything really, or if you know someone who has, you'll get a laugh out of the so, so familiar-to-me tale here. Warning: there are some naughty words referenced. And yes, I am currently in the naughty words phase...

Excellent, excellent link, Jacqui. Getting into Chap. 17 feels a little like going into counseling: I know it's good for us, but it's just so much work!

And I have to doubt you're seriously wasting time on TextTwist until you've left your computer logged on for a whole week just to see if you can break 1,000,000 points and get onto the daily high scoreboard. (Not that I know anyone, um, who has done that.)

I think I'm having a different problem -- see, I'm afraid I may have voted for a book that's not be fully competent to *be* a book. He's funny, easy-going, the kind of book I'd like to have a beer with - but perhaps that's not sufficient reason to entrust my future to him ... :)

Diane, wow. I bow in Test Twist admiration.

Thanks for always listening to me swear about the drivel I write...

Thorp, good metaphor. Which book is this???

I've just read that link and it really made me laugh! And I need that right now...

Can't say I've done any TextTwist stuff, but I've gotten obsessive with Free Rice. Self improvement coupled with feeding the world and I might as well be a junkie in the land of poppies.

My book is a little twisted. It starts off great guns, with all the good intentions in the world, then just gets too ambitious, adding elements that have no business being there. Sigh. No wonder we're together...

I'm only working on the one ... and I use that verb loosely.

Thorp, I've your novel briefly; it's a keeper.

Mary! You did not give me a vocabulary-building link and a Wizard of Oz reference all at once!

Now I am never going to finish my novel... :)

What the heck is TextTwist? I hate reading on the computer and am more likely to download and print. Text. . . . . the way the word was meant to be. From caveman art to Native American birch bark, back to Egyptian papyrus. Do you honestly think any of these would have read from a computer?
Have at me, friends.

Sharon, Text Twist is a free game on Yahoo Games. You get a bunch of letters and have to make words.

It is an enormous time suck if you are a complete and total word dork like me...
